07/05/15 Want vs Ought

Homily from the Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Freedom is not the power to do what you want, it is the power to do what you ought.

All of us have something about our situation or ourselves that we hate. Freedom and grace don't mean that God takes away all of our weaknesses, but Jesus can work through our weaknesses. By letting God's grace into our wounds and weaknesses, His grace is enough...for His power is made perfect in weakness.

Mass Readings from July 5, 2015:
Ezekiel 2:2-5
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Mark 6:1-6
